The Music Connects Big Band is a Cape May County wide band of high school students under the tutelage of Lower Cape May Regional High School’s John Drechen. The Big Band brings together students from Ocean City, Middle Township, Lower Township and Wildwood. This performance is free and open to the public under the auspices of Atlantic City Electric, The Cape May Forum-Chautauqua At The Shore, The Priester Foundation,and David and Christina Clemons.

Heather’s aggressive, stinging guitar style is coming out of the Allman Brothers Band while her passionate, heartfelt vocals seem steeped in Janis Joplin and Susan Tedeschi. Be sure to catch her smoldering version of “Ain’t No Sunshine.”
SAMMY MILLER AND THE CONGREGATION

The ebullient leader and his swinging aggregation of twenty-somethings are introducing younger jazz fans to such vintage numbers as “Little Liza Jane,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” Duke Ellington’s “Black and Tan Fantasy” and Louis Armstrong’s “Struttin’ With Some Barbecue.” Hear them perform those tunes and others from their recent debut release, The Mixtape, in their debut appearance at the Exit Zero Jazz Festival.
